Porec report
As the closing of this season last Saturday I took part at the Porec Big Time Open with Aaron Paladi-Kovacs and a few other Hungarian riders.
We were training at the cable from thursday,. In fact we needed this time as it was not only the cable or the obstacles, but also the always changign sea level that made the riders' jobs very difficult.
By Friday evening all the competitors have arrived and following the registration the startlists were finally done. Aaron had luck, he could compete in his core category, started in Boys. As so many times in this season [with really a few exceptions] there were not enough starters in Junior Ladies, so we had to compete in the Open Ladies.
Aaron made it to the finals first from his heat where he finally managed to reach second place. Probably if ha could train even a few days more on the cable he could have complete a winner run, but now it was enough for silver position. Timo Kappl from Austria became the winner in Boys.
I qualified third into the finals, which truely reflected the power balance of the category. The final result became one place worse unfortunately. I missed the podium with only one single point which made me a bit upset. However this fourth position was enough for me to reach the best position so far in the CWWC World Ranking List: I am third currently in Junior Ladies :)
In Open Men Laca Papp has really deserved to win the gold medal performing an unbeatable run in the finals where he even qualified on first spot.
After the prize giving we closed the competition and some of us [with me among them] the 2011 season with an unforgettable party.
Congratulations to all the podiun position riders and also all the competitors. It was a great season with you guys, hope to see you at the cables and competitions next season!
Last but not least I must say a great thanks to my sponsors: Gyuri [OMSZK & Hyperlite], Lackó [ION Essentials], Ede [Protest], Jani [SPY Optic], Felix & Heni [Felix Promotion] and my parrents of course. Without your help I couldn't have had such a great season!
