Nationals at Szeged
Last weekend (Friday and Saturday) I was at Sun City Szeged to compete at the 12th Wakeboard and Wakeskate National Championship, the only real neational competition of the season. It was extremely important for me to defend my title in the Junior Ladies category, so I arrived at Szeged already on Wednesday to train as much as possible.
A lot of the riders did so too, as by Thiursday almost all the competitors have arrived and we trained and chilled together with my friends.
During the training days I could fix all my tricks and I was ready to compete with really strong runs for the qualifications on Friday and the finals on Saturday. After the qualifications I made it to the finals on the first spot.
On Saturday the weather was with us and after the ever changing rain and sunshine we had ideal conditions for the finals with sunshine and mirror flat water to go for the podium positions.
When I started my regular warm up for the Junbior Ladies' finals I felt I was in top form... focusing purely on my rounds to make clear tricks and outstanding composition. It was my frst final rounds with three in-verts.
As I took off from the jetty I had the well known competition feeling and I was all alone on the water. I made two clear rounds with no mistake at all. When I released the handle after my second round I knew that I have made it: defended my title.
When the judges finally made their decisions I could step to the podium as winner again (as I rpomissed it after the Planksee event)!
