Kign of the cable 2009 results

Last weekend Princess Cable in London hosted this year's King of the Cable event. After Kinga's grear performace in 2008 this year representing Hungary Szebasztián SZEBI Szóláth dominated the Junior Men final.

In the following you may read his trip and contest report:

"On 15th September Bence Bodnár and myself (Szebasztián Szóláth) and our two boardbags took off for England to take part at the King of the Cable 2009.

We had two days to train and acclimatise which ended up not too successfully. The cable was very unfamiliar and the weather wasn’t very generous with us.

Finally I could find my form by the last trainings before the contest so I qualified third whilst Bence made itt o fourth for the finals. I knew that it was not enough for a top position so I had to rethink my round and tricks to have a strong composition. Luckily help arrived from Hungary – technical from Hege, and mentally I got support from my parrents. Next day I arrived at the cable with a clear mind and had a perfect round of training. This was at 9:45 am. So I layed back and waited for the finals. I was watching the other finals as you can also learn a lot from the others’ rounds as well. In a few hours’ time I was called to the start. As I stood there I felt adrenalin boostiong through me. I took off and completed another perfect round with all the tricks planned... I got out of the water verysatisfied and happy. I felt that I really rocked. I changed and a few hours later the silver and bronze medalists came up to me to congratulate the winner: ME!!! In the evening at the award giving the speaker called me to the podium saying: "In 2009 the King of the Cable in Junior Man division is Sebastian Szolath from Hungary!”

I was very glad as I felt that my performace was really worth the top position. I was happy to stand ont he top of the podium again representing Hungary and my sponsors. Bence ended up at fouth which we were both satisfied with.

After the contest we had two days left for sightseeing and hangin’ around in London what I liked a lot. As we have never been there before there was a lot to see indeed. However the greatest of all sights was when we found Europe’s largest cap shop where the King of the Cable surprised himself with a couple of cool ones."
