Report of the cup round in Győr by Aaron
DC Hungarian Wakeboard and Wakeskate Cup 1st stop, 11th June 2011 Győr-Ikrény [Westside Cablepark] Climbing through the fence, walking around the lake, searching for photo spots, shooting a few b-rolls and let's go!... just kiddin', it's only 9 o'clock and there are only a few riders training on the water, one of them is PeBi.
Official training from 8:00 to 10:00, but nothing starts on time so we still have a bit of extra time to ride. Well we came to shred, or what.
Finally it is time to compete.
We kicked off with the amateurs, where the Austrian riders finished second and third, but the first position stayed at home by Mátyás Metka from Hungary by 4 points.
Then: Kids Oli Hegedűs vs Boti Fritz but no problem, at least nobody has to worry about the first two positions. Finally Boti has made it to first with 72 points.
Boys: Dave, Levi, Ákos. In the qualifications Levi has overcome Ákos by 0,83 points. Dave landed a perfect Roll 2 Revert [RESPECT]!!! However Ákos had the better run in the finals. the result in Boys: 1st Ákos; 2nd Levi; 3rd Dave.
Junior: Lóci second, the winner is Dani Pataki from Balatonfüred.
The final result in the Kings' Category - Opem Men has surprised a few people
1st Szebi Szoláth; 2nd Laca Papp; 3rd Balázs Bakró
PeBi was not too worried as far as I know. During the training she completed both of her runs with no mistakes, so finished the training session relatively fast. Her major opponent in her "home" category Ági Erzse, while in Open Ladies the other were Klaudia Nagy, Vivien Katona and Kinga Shenker-Horváth. the qualifications were very tight, Ági went to the finals second after Kinga while PeBi was "just" third. In the finals PeBi had a great first run, although she did not go for the 360 [she did not feel it safe] so had only a 180 tailgrab over the kicker. In the second round she landed the 360 but "butted*" some of her tricks. However she had three inverts a roll 2 revert, a sw backroll and a backroll, while her major rival had only two, moreover she has failed to complete one of her rounds. So PeBi became silver medallist in Open Ladies, but also collected the winner's points in her own category. *offensive, obscene or hurtful expression[according to windows] then so is Buttslide what actually is a wakeboard "trick"
