Aschheim report

PeBi's report

When we arrived at Aschheim on thursday and I looked around at the cable I would have never dreamt about the final result I have reached. There were some obstacles still issing from the water, and only a few of the riders from the entry list were around and also there was no competition feeling at all. I even could not feel the coming big event next day when we could finally train for an hour following the heavy all-day storm. That one hour was however pretty enough for a slight injury in my left arm. Two ropes behind me somebody failed a trick that I could not balance. On Saturday I woke up with a bad pain in my left arm.

I arrived at the cable a bit worried. But finally training with the bests prooved really motivating - riding with those who we used to watch in wakeboard movies day by day. I composed my runs and while my team members were still training I prepared mentally for next day's event.

As I participated in the Junior Ladies category the qualifications started early in the morning at 8 o'clock. Unlike the domestic competitions we had only one run in the qualis. Despite the early schedule I made a clear run and qualified second to the finals.

After the qualifications I had nothing to do by four o'clock PM but to barrack for the other Hungarian riders. Laca, Milán and Bence unfortunately did not make it to the finals, so we have prepared with Ági and Beni for our decisive two runs.……

After my second run I saw the results on the display and did not believe my eyes..... I WON.......

It was unbeliveable to stand on the podium where Dominik Gührs, Maxine Sapulette and the winner of the Junior Men the Australian rider were standing following me. I took over the trophy from Mr Bruno Rixen himself. I still hardly can believe that I won........ I hope the feeling remains for a long time.......

I really thank very-very much for the help of everybody who heloed me to get to this contest: Gyuri, Lackó, Ede, Jani, Felix and last but not least my parrents. I think it was worth training and practicing so hard.

Of course a big up to all the competitors and a great respect to the winners.

Beni's report

The Rixes 50 years wakeboard contest took place on the first weekend of June. We arrived with a great team and participated in three categories. We had to compete with the best riders  from the Netherlands, Australia and from all over the world. Unfortunately no hungarian rider has made it into the Open Men finals: Bence Bodnár, Milán Csontos and László Papp couldn't qualify. I could present a real good run so I managed to qualify into the finals where the field was really strong. We saw more 900's so I had to take high risk. Finally I couldn't make my run and closed 7th.

At the end of the event we could see Bruno Rixen himself riding, who gave us the sport of our life wakeboard by building the first cablepark of the world.

Congartulations to the Hungarian girls: Petra PeBi Körmendi who won the Junoir Ladies category and Ági Erzs who has also had a nice run in the finals.
